Dozens of campaigning farmers on tractors caused a lot of delay on the A2 from Utrecht to Den Bosch during the evening rush hour. There was a traffic jam of 11 kilometers between Beesd and Zaltbommel at around 6 p.m., reports the ANWB.
It is the fifth evening in a row that farmers take to the road in the Netherlands to protest. The farmers are angry with the new cattle feed measure by Minister Carola Schouten of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality.
In recent days, the farmers have taken tractors to distribution centers of supermarkets in Drenthe, Groningen and Gelderland. They also blocked roads in several places, including the A32 and A7 at Heerenveen and access roads to Eindhoven Airport.
The actions started on Thursday evening when farmers with tractors drove to the Binnenhof in The Hague for a spontaneous protest.
