  According to the São Paulo State Fire Department, the accident occurred on a ring road in Maua, Greater Sao Paulo. At about 5:30 in the morning, a Chevrolet car carrying five people rear-ended with a truck, hitting the back of the truck, and the car was seriously damaged and deformed. Because the road was dark and foggy at the time, the following nine cars couldn't escape and there was a series of collisions.

  The accident caused two men and a woman on the Chevrolet car to die on the spot, including a 16-year-old boy. Two other passengers on the car were injured. In addition, 5 people were injured in other vehicles.
