The second tournament in the Counter-Strike’s revamped major qualifier series, cs_summit 6, ended on Sunday with a win over the German BIG team for the European tournament.

In the final, BIG knocked out Team Vitality with a 3–2 result (0–1, 16–8 Mirage, 11–16 Inferno, 16–10 Dust II, 16–10 Overpass). Vitality took the 1-0 lead after beating BIG in the top of the chart.

BIG has been one of the best teams of the Corona era: The team has reached the finals in the last few months. Of the tournaments, however, only Summit and DreamHack Masters have been the absolute top performers, both of which ended in BIG’s winning celebrations.

Of the qualifying win, BIG received $ 34,000 and 2,000 RMR qualifying points. Vitality had a balance of $ 22,000 and 1875. Third place went to Alex “Aleksib” OG, led by the Estonian, whose bronze position was far above expectations.

GODSENT, starring Jesse “ZehN” Linjala, finished fifth after knocking down Fnatic 2-1. Linjala was the fifth best player in the tournament in terms of statistics. After 14 maps, his rating was 1.15 and there were 50 more kills than deaths.

The Finnish ENCE placed tenth after losing on 9–10. place in the decisive match for G2 Esports.

Cs_summit 6 was part of CS publisher Valve's revamped major qualifier series, which is played by region. Those who score the most points in the three-tournament qualifiers will be invited to a major tournament in Rio in November.

The 11 teams with the most points will be invited to the major. The GODSENT represented by Linjala is fourth, ENCE Fifth and Estonian OG 11th. Vitality is the only team to secure a major spot so far. BIG and OG, who left the tournament without points, rose to the major place in one fell swoop.

The third qualifier will be played during the fall. The $ 2 million ESL One Rio Major value tournament is scheduled for November if the corona situation allows. Many believe Major will move from autumn to next spring. In this case, the number of qualifiers may also be increased from the current three. The points situation can be seen below.
