by Tiziana Di Giovannandrea 05 July 2020In Venezuela, on the occasion of the 209th anniversary of the Declaration of National Independence, opposition leader Juan Guaidó, who proclaimed himself interim president, said: "Venezuela will be free". He then sent a warning to his rival, President Nicolás Maduro: "The time at your disposal is over," said Guaidó.

"You no longer have time - stressed the opposition leader - and you are defeated. What you have achieved is to prolong the agony of a people who claim, demand and defend the application of the Constitution, want their freedom and embrace the possibility of a different future ".

Guaidó, speaking in a virtual session of the Parliament presiding in challenge to the National Assembly led by Luis Parra, who in theory was also part of the opposition but in practice a supporter of Maduro, assured that democratic forces will not rest "not even a second to obtain the second independence of Venezuela ".

The hard clash between the two politicians therefore continues and the opposition leader has reiterated, in view of the political elections announced by the government for December 6th, that "we will not lend ourselves to this farce" asking all parties and social movements not to participate in the election because it is a "Maduro trap".
