German Economy Minister Peter Altmire said in a press interview on Sunday that his country's economy may recover from the repercussions of the Coruna virus in October onwards.

"I am confident that our economy will be able to halt after the summer holidays and as of October the economy can resume growth again in Germany," Altmaier told the newspaper "Bild am Sonntag".

He added that the economy will shrink 6% in 2020, but it can record a growth rate of over 5% in 2021.

Altmire added that his goal is to reach the employment rate that was achieved before the crisis by 2022, and then begin to restore full employment.

He said that the rate of the spread of the virus in the United States is a cause of great concern, considering that the outbreak of the pandemic out of control there will have major repercussions on the global economy.
