The rescue services have no idea yet how big the leak is. According to Daniel Lundin, the background is that about 10,000 liters of oil ran out inside a building at the trucking company Scania ten days ago. Despite the fact that the oil should have been sucked up, residual oil has thus come out via storm water pipes in Strömviken.

In an attempt to stop further spreading, the rescue services have now laid out eight pieces of lance around a stream that flows into the affected area.

- It is possible to see the oil shimmer all over the marina, which is about five hundred meters in size, he says.

Scania's theory: The rain has contributed to the spread

The trucking company Scania confirms that the emissions are from them.

- That's right, it's probably the remnants of an emission from us that wasn't fully remediated. Our theory is that the wells ran over when the rain came, but we investigate further, says Hans-Åke Danielson at Scania's press service.

Scania has now used flush cars to get the oil out of the water.

- Of course, we take this seriously. It is never good if you release environmentally hazardous waste into nature. It is unfortunate, says Hans-Åke Danielsson.
