American singer Kanye West, husband of supermodel Kim Kardashian, has announced his candidacy for next November's US presidential election.

"We must now fulfill America's promise by trusting God, uniting our visions, and building our future. I am running for the presidency of the United States," West wrote in a tweet on Twitter posted yesterday, coinciding with the Americans ’Independence Day celebration.

The rich singer and producer, 43, did not give any additional details, nor was it clear that he had made this nomination officially, and his wife, Kim Kardashian, commented via Twitter on the publication of a picture of the American flag.

Thousands of Twitter pioneers commented on this announcement, which has been at the forefront of the most interactive topics across the network in several countries around the world, and many of those questioned the singer's desire to continue this candidacy, and they saw it as just a marketing ploy.

Elon Musk supports him

Tesla president Elon Musk wrote a comment announcing "the full support" of the singer in the move.

West has been making headlines in recent years due to psychological problems and controversial statements about slavery and his support for unpopular Republican President Donald Trump among fans and producers of rap songs sung by West.

West met President Trump at the White House in 2018, and in a press interview the following year he said that his support for Trump was a ploy to banish Democrats and pave the way for him to run his own race to the White House.

"The moment will come when I will be the President of the United States," he added.
