The Syrian singer, Asala Nasri, was exposed to a large wave of criticism immediately after presenting a video clip of her new song, "Love and Peace", following some controversial clips and messages that the director Mohamed Al-Qadi brought to the clip, which made the work get about one million views a few hours after it was uploaded to the YouTube platform.

The video clip presents a set of social and humanitarian issues related to the Egyptian society through a set of scenes accompanying other scenes in which Nasri urges strength and hope, in line with the song that was written and composed by Mohamed Rahim.

But the director decided to place pictures of some prominent figures in the background of the clips in which Nasri sings in her red dress, in line with some vocabulary.

After displaying pictures of a number of Egyptian artists and writers, and before moving to other images of influential international figures such as Gandhi and Steve Jobs, the director passed out when she sang "I am motivated to the end", a picture of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, along with the image of the freedom fighter Omar Mokhtar, one of the symbols of the Libyan resistance to the Italian occupation in the beginning of the century The past, which raises many questions about the purpose of this, especially since Sisi was threatening military action a few days ago.

This duality was not the only reason for stirring up many exclamation marks about Asala Nasri's new song. Besides using the Egyptian accent, the director focused on the Egyptian soldier who was expatriate from his pregnant wife.

In addition to the above, many of his followers and fans criticized the authenticity of granting Sisi this status, ignoring the 2013 military coup that brought him to power, the authoritarian practices practiced by his regime and the presence of thousands of prisoners of conscience in his prisons, in addition to his support for the Assad regime that Mughniyah has always expressed opposition to After the outbreak of the Syrian revolution in 2011, which prompted some of Asala's followers from the Syrians to accuse her of abandoning the revolution.

The director of the video clip did not stop there, but also showed a picture of Abdel Aziz Al Saud when she said, "I am the successor of our Lord," which may indicate the Egyptian-Saudi rapprochement.

Contradictory positions

"Asala Nasri sings for peace in a video clip and puts a picture of Sisi and another photo that puts Sisi in with Omar Al-Mukhtar ... The clip of Israel is Arab and Arab," Bashar Abu Raghad said in a post on Facebook.

One of them also commented, "I love the originality and adore her voice, her dignity, and her attitude towards the revolution, but I did not understand why she puts the image of the criminal Sisi in her last song ... Do you know how many prisoners of conscience are held in Sisi prisons? How many Egyptians are unable to miss Baladou because of Sisi? How hungry people in Egypt because of Sisi?"

As for Louay Abu Shannan, he considered in his publication that "the clip of Asala Nasri is an example of the process of framing in directing the public. Sisi’s image emanates from the voice of Omar al-Mukhtar with rudeness and background. .

She ignores the anger of her fans

Although she did not formally respond to these criticisms, the singer tweeted, "Thank you all for your love and support ... I was very happy with this success for a work done for you and I was very happy that we are many in the face of pain, in despair, and in the face of fear, we will surpass these days with hope and love, keeping you God is all from all harm. "

Thank you all for your love and support .. I was very happy with this success for a work done for you .. I am very happy that we are many in the face of pain, in despair, and in the face of fear. We will surpass these days with hope and with love.

It is noteworthy that Asala was born in Damascus in 1969, she started her artistic career when she was four years old under the patronage of her father Mustafa Nasri, who was a famous singer at the time, and she currently resides in Egypt even though she holds Bahraini nationality.

It is prohibited from returning to Syria because of its anti-Syrian stance, even some pro-Assad lawyers tried to accuse her of normalization with Israel in 2013, and the complaint filed by the regime against her led to her being detained at Beirut airport for a short period in 2014.
