"I'm preparing for it". This is what MEP Yannick Jadot said in an interview with the JDD, openly evoking the presidential election of 2022. The elected representative also calls “as of the start of the new school year” for “rallying around ecology” and “left forces which want it "

Asked about a possible presidential candidacy, Mr. Jadot said: "I am preparing for it. Ecology has an immense responsibility: that of gaining power to transform the lives of citizens ”.

A first call to the left forces

After the victories of EELV at the head and sometimes in support of left-wing coalitions in several big cities last Sunday, according to him "it is necessary from the start of the school year to launch a vast rally around the ecology, left forces who wish and , beyond, citizens who find themselves in this new political matrix ”.

This call to the left forces constitutes a first in the mouth of Yannick Jadot. In the European elections of May 2019, for which he led an independent EELV list, he then said that the renaissance of the left was not his subject. "A large part of the left is going green when En Marche and Les Républicains form a front of anti-climate decline," analyzed the MEP.

A common summer school?

PS boss Olivier Faure and EELV Julien Bayou have planned to organize a common summer university, extended to the left and civil society, but the project has so far been put back in the fall. "We still need to expand the gathering, from the climate generation to entrepreneurs who invest massively in ecology," argued Yannick Jadot.

Bravo to the new generation of #blocsocialecologique. It's up to you to break with the culture of division. Give French citizens the hope of a strong society because it is just, solid because it is sustainable, peaceful because it is democratic. #with you

"Yannick wants to be a candidate as he was in 2017 and I want our political space to win: it's two slightly different strategies", opposed him on Sunday in "the Grand Jury" (RTL / LCI / Le Figaro ) EELV mayor of Eric Eric Piolle, who has not concealed national ambitions for the past few weeks. The leader of the Insoumis Jean-Luc Mélenchon meanwhile tackled: “Yannick Jadot says that I can rally his project. Very good. Which ? "
