“More than 4 billion rubles will be allocated to the regions in 2020 to partially reimburse the costs of staff wages while creating temporary jobs,” the Cabinet’s press service said.

Employment services will offer citizens jobs in construction, agriculture, transport, utilities, land improvement, as well as in social services for elderly care.

In addition, in those enterprises that transferred employees to part-time employment, it will be possible to perform additional temporary work.

“Such measures will allow temporary employment of more than 80 thousand people,” the government said.

Earlier, Rostrud said that the number of unemployed in the country is currently 2.7 million people, which is more than 3.5 times higher than in early April.

The head of the Ministry of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov noted that about 15 million people did not work during the restrictive measures introduced because of the coronavirus, of which 680 thousand were reduced.
