Before the government announcement, Jean Castex sets his priorities

After a first trip to a company in the Paris suburbs the day before, the French Prime Minister is on the front page of Journal du Dimanche (JDD) this Sunday, July 5, during an interview in which the new tenant of Matignon talks about economic subjects which he has already presented as priorities.

Pending the appointment of the new French government , Prime Minister Jean Castex wants to signify his presence. In an interview with the JDD this Sunday, July 5, he explains in particular that he wants to resolve the problem of “ short-term  ” pensions  .

An announcement that comes three days after that of Emmanuel Macron of a return to the agenda of this ultra-sensitive subject that had sparked months of protests last winter, before being put on hold with the coronavirus crisis . Jean Castex specifies that he wants to "  resume dialogue with the social partners this summer  ", and "  adapt  " the government project to the new context, but the objective will in fact be "to  set a new social agenda  ".

A first inflection, after unions and employers have unanimously explained in recent days, that the time was not at all , in their eyes, to relaunch this controversial reform.

If the new Prime Minister also explains that he wants to resume discussions on unemployment insurance or dependency, his priority, he assures him, is economic reconstruction. "  The recovery plan must be finalized,  " insists Jean Castex. Also repeating that ecology is "  not an option  " but an "  obligation  ", the Prime Minister cites in particular the fight against the artificialisation of land or the strengthening of thermal insulation and photovoltaic roofs.

As for the Ségur de la santé , supposed to bring new resources to the hospital, but which was extended last week for lack of agreement with the unions, Jean Castex says he wants to conclude it next week.

The president of the National Assembly Richard Ferrand announced Sunday on France 3 that the composition of the government led by the new Prime Minister Jean Castex would be "  probably  " known Monday morning.
