He responded to a request from journalists to comment on information that the Russian side allegedly requires Kiev to adopt this law before July 6. 

“Firstly, no one can demand anything from Ukraine, we are an independent country,” RIA Novosti quoted Zelensky as saying.

Also, the Ukrainian president said that in this matter "everyone needs to work on rhetoric."

In addition, Zelensky said that the meeting of political advisers of the Norman-format countries in Berlin on July 3 went well.

At the same time, the deputy head of the presidential administration Dmitry Kozak said after the meeting that it was premature to talk about agreeing on the Norman summit. According to him, there is no talk of a “breakthrough” in the negotiations on the Donbass.
