23 years have passed since Chun Doo-hwan was judged by the law for 13 crimes such as the rebellion and civil war, but there are still many memorial seats with the name and writings of Chun Doo-hwan. So is the Seoul Arts Center and the National Library of Korea.

Reporter Yun Na-ra covered why the demolition is not working.

It is written'CEO Doo-Hwan Chun' under the phrase'Culture of Culture and Art'.

In 1988, opened by the Seoul Arts Center, the words of Chun Doo-hwan were carved into a memorial stone.

The National Library of Korea also has a memorial stone with the writings of Mr. Jeon in a spacious place.

Civic groups such as the May 18th Memorial Foundation have been focusing on demolishing the monuments related to Jeon.

So far, eight out of 20 have been replaced or demolished, including copper plates in the Antarctic Sejong Station and Daejeon Hyunchungwon.

The memorial seat at the 11th Airborne Brigade in Damyang, Jeollanam-do was moved to the Gwangju 5·18 Freedom Park last year.

However, more than a dozen places, such as the Seoul Arts Center and the National Library of Korea, still retain the former monument.

Some of Jeon's monuments are registered as'administrative museums', a kind of public record, and if the government finds that there is no need to preserve them, the government should take action to discard them.
