US Secretary of State Stephen Vaughn and Special Representative for North Korea meet with South Korean officials on the 7th of next week's visit to Korea, Reuters reported.

Reuters quoted officials as saying the next week's visit will be one of several State Department officials meeting with South Korean counterparts on Friday.

It is observed that Minister Vegan will stay in Korea for two days and three days after visiting Korea on the 7th and will be in contact with South Korean diplomatic security officials such as the counterpart, Lee Do-hoon, the head of the Korean Peninsula Peace and Bargaining Headquarters, and the Foreign Ministry and the Blue House.

His visit to Korea is made in a situation where the denuclearization negotiations in North America are not deadlocked, and inter-Korean relations are frozen.

"The time is still in the process of making significant progress," said Secretary of State Vegan, while saying in a ceremony on the 29th of last month that the North American summit was not likely to take place.

White House National Security Adviser Robert O'Brien said at an event on the 30th of last month, saying, "The door to dialogue for progress is open."

While President Moon Jae-in expressed his willingness to pursue the third North American summit before the US presidential election, there are also some prospects that President Trump could take out the North American summit card to reverse the situation just before voting in the US presidential election.

Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-hwa said in a press conference on the 2nd that President Moon said he will do his best to make the North American summit before the US presidential election. "We are closely communicating at various levels between the United States and the United States."
