by Tiziana Di Giovannandrea 04 July 2020 "Dear, I am well and in good health, I hope that you too are safe and well. Family, friends, business friends and the University of Bologna, I miss you much, more than I do can express in a few words ". This is a passage from a letter from Patrick George Zaky, the Egyptian activist student at the University of Bologna who has been in prison in Egypt since early February, delivered to his family. This is reported by the network of activists 'Patrick Libero'

"One day I will be free and I will return to normal, and even better than before" writes Patrick Zaky, who was in Italy to follow a Master's degree at the University of Bologna and who was arrested on February 7 this year at the airport of Cairo, where he had just landed on a flight from Italy. The text reads among other things: "I hope you are all well and that the Corona has not affected any of our loved ones". The next hearing is scheduled for July 12th.

The activists of the 'Patrick Libero' network commented: "For once, today we are giving you -relatively- good news! Patrick's family - they announce on Facebook - received today a short letter he wrote on June 21. Of course he didn't could have said anything he wanted, as these letters go through various security hands before reaching the recipient. Yes, we are still worried, but we are happy to read his words. As expected from Patrick, he is sending his love to many people, and he is wondering how we all are during Covid-19 times. "

Amnesty: his desire for freedom is a right
Riccardo Noury, spokesman for Amnesty International Italia, comments the letter saying: "A good news, a very sweet letter that gives us comfort, which encourages us to commit ourselves even more to satisfy the desire of Patrick, which is more of a right than a desire. And that is to return to freedom. Nice to read that Patrick is in good condition despite everything, in spirit. He continues the campaign to ask for his release, immediate and unconditional ".
