At lunchtime, a police patrol made a discovery of a package of white powder in Nolhaga Park in Alingsås. The patrol believed it was a drug, and the package was taken to the police station for reporting. Upon closer examination of the powder, however, a suspicion arose that it could be some kind of explosive material.
- We then blocked off a street outside the police house and called on the National Bomb Guard so that they can make an assessment, says Anna Göransson, the police spokesperson in the West region.
The barrier is now raised and it is currently handled as a crime against flammable and explosive substances. As usual, operations are in progress at the Alingsås Police House.
