The Syrian Network for Human Rights published a report that monitors the situation of human rights in Syria, and highlighted the human rights violations implemented by the parties to the conflict and the dominant forces in Syria in the first half of this year.

The report indicated that the car bombs, the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, and the deteriorating economic situation; One of the most prominent factors affecting the lives of Syrian citizens in the first half of the year.

In the first half of 2020, the report recorded the deaths of 1,006 civilians, including 218 children and 113 women, and most of them were killed by the Syrian-Russian alliance forces.

The report said that among these victims are 9 medical teams, 3 media professionals, and 3 civil defense personnel, in addition to the killing of 71 people who died due to torture, and at least 30 massacres.

The report also documented at least 947 cases of arbitrary arrest / detention in the first half of this year, including 17 children and 23 women, by the parties to the conflict and the dominant forces in Syria, the largest percentage of which were at the hands of the Syrian regime forces.

According to the report, at least the first half of 2020 witnessed at least 277 incidents of attacks against vital civilian centers, 228 of which were at the hands of the Syrian-Russian alliance forces, most of them in Idlib Governorate.

The report stated that the Syrian regime forces carried out 4 attacks in which cluster munitions were used in the first half of this year, and they were in Idlib and Hama governorates, killing 12 civilians, including 7 children, 3 women, and wounding 27 people.

According to the report, at least 474 barrel bombs dropped by the Syrian regime's air force on Idlib, Aleppo and Hama provinces were documented in the first half of 2020, and these attacks killed 13 civilians, including 4 children, and two women.
