04 July 2020 "What Italy has experienced up to now is a lost twenty-year period, which is why we are reversing this trend line which sees us fragile, unable to spend on investments". This was said by Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, speaking at the UIL National Council in Rome.

Bombardieri new secretary
Pierpaolo Bombardieri is the new secretary general of Uil. He was unanimously elected by the Confederal Council, made up of 240 members. Bombardieri succeeds Carmelo Barbagallo, elected leader of the retired Uil yesterday, who led the organization for six years.

"We will work to rebuild the sense of solidarity and closeness in our country which, after Covid, ended in a thousand pieces - he said - we will do it using a millennial Japanese technique, Kintsugi, the art of repairing with gold, enhancing fragments. Where gold will be the commitment of women and men who want to change our lives for the better. When we choose to fix what is damaged we develop the ability to look at the present to rebuild the future. A path that requires care, patience, passion. Splits must not be hidden ".

Bombardieri added that "we start from those to find that nothing will be the same as before. We respect women and men, their work. Only in this way will the wounds become beauty, strength, energy and we will return to the extraordinary country that we are. Because it is our history with its scars that makes us unique ".

"Our organization, like that of CGIL and CISL, is made up of women and men, young and old, who filled many squares last year to ask for a different country. And if you don't respect those workers, those workers, those young people , if you don't listen to them, we are ready to go back to those squares ". The new secretary general of Uil, Pierpalo Bombardieri said this to Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and the Minister of Economy, Roberto Gualtieri, in the audience to listen.

Conte: "Simplification decree approved next week"
"We will approve the simplification decree early next week". The premier, Giuseppe Conte, says it in his speech to the Uil Federal Council. "We cannot think that for episodes or pockets of illegality the country cannot run - he adds -. This is the moment of courage, we must dare, obviously with all the necessary precautions, to give answers to our workers".

"With the simplification decree that we will approve next week, we will introduce measures to give new impetus to investments without losing the most rigorous controls". This was stated by the Prime Minister, Giuseppe Conte, speaking at the Uil National Confederal Council. "We are developing more effective controls to ensure the fight against mafia infiltrations, we want to strengthen the safeguards of legality but we must also be courageous: we cannot think that due to the concern of episodes and pockets of illegality this country should no longer run", he He stressed.

"This is an intervention to give impetus to the recovery on which it is not permissible to hesitate. This is the moment of courage, we must dare to restore trust to everyone, to citizens and to the economy," he concluded.

Tax reform table restarts next week
"Another government priority is organic tax reform: the tax reform table will restart in Palazzo Chigi next week. A tax reform cannot be done in a few days but the country absolutely needs it". This was said by Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, speaking at the UIL National Council in Rome. The reform, he stressed, "will proceed in three directions: simplification, the fight against tax evasion, also through the promotion of digital payments, and the increase in disposable incomes in favor of those who work and those who produce".

Barbagallo: we are not orphans of the concertation
"I leave an organization in excellent health. We have achieved almost all the objectives of securing our Uil in economic, organizational and political security. From today we start again because after Covid we will have to take an important path: change the Country. We are about to make a pact for the country. My successor will have to indicate the route and bring the ship to port. " So Carmelo Barbagallo, in his last speech as general secretary of Uil, before passing the baton to Pierpaolo Bombardieri.

"We are not orphans of the concertation - he said, addressing Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte - we are to discuss, but we would also like to collect from time to time". Barbagallo has been secretary general of Uil's pensioners since yesterday: "From now on I will follow the pensioners. My goal will be to make pensioners active, in the sense that they must participate in the country's economic recovery, reducing their taxes, giving them more power. of purchase, making sure that they are an active part of the country with an active seniority that must be regulated. We are ready to discuss the organization of work to ensure that there is an elasticity in retiring according to jobs that are done and the elderly can be allowed to do socially useful jobs that could increase their poor pension and give support to the economy of our country ".
