A 63-year-old woman died drowned this Saturday in Côte-d'Or while bathing in Lake Panthier, a small body of artificial water located in the south-east of the department, we learned with firefighters.

The drama was played out shortly before 4 p.m. while the sixty-something was swimming alone ten meters from a busy beach in the town of Vandenesse-en-Auxois, where part of the lake stretches.

The victim would have sank perfectly

According to witnesses, the victim suddenly sank and then disappeared. Her body was found and taken out of the water an hour later with the assistance of a team of firefighters who failed to revive her.
