British police said today that seven of its members were injured in violence in an unlicensed concert in the capital as they sought to disperse a gathering that posed a threat to public health during the Corona virus pandemic.

The police said in a statement that the attendees yesterday turned violent and threw projectiles at the police as they entered a building in Havelock Close, West London.

"The officers encountered stones and other projectiles thrown at them," the police said, adding that they eventually dispersed the gathering without arrest.

Police indicated that such gatherings are illegal and represent a public health threat amid the spread of the Coruna virus.
