The European Parliament, in Strasbourg - G. VARELA / 20 MINUTES

Curtain on the Covid-19 screening center installed in the European Parliament, in Strasbourg. As revealed by 20 Minutes in mid-June, it will close sooner than expected. The initial date of July 31 has been brought forward to Friday July 4. "In view of the significant improvement in the health situation and the decrease in the spread of the virus in the department of Bas-Rhin, and in particular in the Eurometropolis, the decision was taken jointly with the European Parliament to carry out the closing ”, explains the institution in a press release.

Since May 11, she had made part of her usual canteen and self available for private laboratories to set up. All dealt exclusively with asymptomatic patients, the others being sent to other places of collection. Scheduled to accommodate up to 2,000 people per day, the European Parliament's screening center will never have refueled.

"We have between 40 and 70 people a day," said the site's coordinator, Dr. Roger Wolff. A total of 1,800 people will have been screened there. The testing phase continues elsewhere in the Bas-Rhin, in particular in Strasbourg where free and non-prescription collective campaigns have just been launched.
