Yesterday, the Russian Health Minister, Mikhail Murashko, warned that the new epidemic of the Corona virus in the country will continue for at least another eight months.

"I think it is highly unlikely that we will return to normal life, such as: parties, flights, working properly, and holidays properly, before February," Murashko said in comments reported by the Russian news agency Interfax.

Russia has recorded more than 667 thousand cases of emerging coronavirus, and it is the third most countries in the world in terms of the number of cases after the United States and Brazil.

Closures were imposed in most Russian regions for a period of two months, as part of the pandemic control efforts, and these restrictions were eased in recent weeks, in light of the declining rate of casualties.

Official data indicate that the virus has killed nearly 10,000 people, including 500 medical personnel.

Murashko said that face masks should be worn in public, in order not to transmit the infection to others. He explained that «the infection is transmitted by spray in the air, and therefore the face masks represent a protective barrier», and he advised to change the face masks every two hours of use.
