The Houthi group announced today that it targeted an airport and an air base in the southern border of Saudi Arabia with several drones, while the Saudi-Emirati coalition said that it destroyed 4 drones loaded with explosives launched by the group.

"The Air Force was able to carry out a massive operation this afternoon towards Khamis Mushayt and Najran, with a large number of (Qasif 2K) aircraft on the march," Houthi spokesman Yahya Sari said in a brief statement.

He added that "the operations and control room in Najran airport, weapons depots and aircraft shelters at King Khalid Air Base in Khamis Mushait and other military targets were targeted, and they hit their targets with high accuracy."

Earlier today, a spokesman for the Saudi-Emirati coalition, Turki al-Maliki, announced that the coalition forces intercepted and destroyed 4 drones launched by the Houthis, adding - in a statement - that planes were intercepted and destroyed in the Yemeni airspace, without mentioning the site of destruction.

Last Wednesday, the Saudi-Emirati coalition fighters resumed violent raids on areas in the capital, Sana'a, which have been under the control of the Houthi group for nearly 6 years.

Last week, the Houthis launched missiles that arrived in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, in the first attack of its kind since the 6-week-old truce due to the outbreak of the Corona virus (Covid-19), expired in late May. The coalition said it had responded.
