A second Miami Heat player tested positive for coronavirus, forcing the NBA team to close its training center, Fort Lauderdale Sun Sentinel reported on Friday.

According to the Floridian newspaper, the contaminated player whose identity has not been specified, is part of the major five of the Heat.

The Florida franchise will continue to test its players every two days, until their departure for Orlando where the 22 teams still in the running for the play-offs will converge on July 8.

Like Denver and the Los Angeles Clippers also facing Covid-19 cases, Miami has barred access to its training center where players train individually.

Collective training and oppositions will not resume until July 9 in the secure enclosure of Disney World, in Florida.

Regular season games, eight for each team, will begin on July 30 with the Los Angeles derby between the Lakers and the Clippers, as well as a game between Utah and New Orleans.
