Martine Vassal (LR), who led the campaign for the right in the municipal election in Marseille, rejects any alliance with the National Rally and will ask, if the votes of the RN allowed to elect a candidate from his camp, "at this let him resign immediately ”.

"There will never be the slightest alliance with the National Front (National Rally today) that we are fighting against. And if his voices from his representatives ever come to bear on one of our candidates, I will ask him to resign immediately and not agree to keep up with these voices of shame, "insisted Martine Vassal in a statement released late Thursday evening.

Teissier on his side dodges: "It is not written on the ballots".

Martine Vassal weakened in the second round of the election by her defeat in her sector, announced Thursday her withdrawal for the nomination for the town hall which will be played on Saturday during the municipal council in the absence of an absolute majority after the second tower. She withdrew in favor of deputy Guy Teissier, 75, from the ranks of the hard right. The latter, questioned Thursday by AFP on the position he would adopt in case of victory thanks to elected RN, dodged: "It is not written on the ballots".

Just two hours after Guy Teissier's declaration of candidacy, another LR candidate for the central town hall came forward: Lionel Royer-Perreaut, who won the town hall for the 9-10th arrondissements. This former right-hand man of Mr. Teissier assured, in a video posted on Facebook, that he was aware of "agreements in progress with the National Front", which he could not accept.

Shortly after, the RN candidate for mayor Stéphane Ravier announced in a press release his desire for a "Marseilles Pact necessary so that the most sectarian far left does not fall on our city".

Muselier and Jacob crop

Ms. Vassal reacted sharply, accusing Mr. Ravier of "extremist", "whose business is to exacerbate hatred".

On Twitter, Renaud Muselier, LR president of the Provence-Alpes Côte d'Azur region, assured: “In democracy, for Marseille, all discussions are desirable with a view to gathering for a future project. All but one: negotiate with the RN! "

As of Thursday, the president of the Republicans, Christian Jacob, also reminded him that there was "no question of making an alliance with the National Rally".

On Saturday, the left coalition led by Michèle Rubirola has 42 votes but will have to fight to win the majority against LR, who also has 42 votes by counting the votes of dissident Bruno Gilles. The voices of the elected RN (9) and of the ex-PS senator Samia Ghali (8) are at the heart of the negotiations.
