Today Riccardo Cesarino, the 10-year-old boy who was severely burned after a science experiment in his home in Collegno, in Turin, died on 29 May. The boy had burned 60% of his body and was hospitalized in intensive care at the Regina Margherita children's hospital in Turin.

The boy had tried at home the experiment called the "Pharaoh's Serpent", which involves mixing baking soda, sand, sugar and alcohol. Her condition appeared immediately serious despite the immediate help of her mother, who was at home and tried to put out the flames. A neighbor also came to help.

The boy underwent several operations at Regina Margherita, but never left the intensive care unit. A file was opened in the prosecutor's office, currently without an investigation.
