03 July 2020The final of the Campiello Prize will be held for the first time in Piazza San Marco in Venice, Saturday 5 September: an important novelty for the literary prize founded by the industrialists of the Veneto region and for the whole city of Venice. The proclamation of the absolute winner in Piazza San Marco will in fact represent the return of the great cultural events in a city that has suffered so much from its absence in recent months.

The announcement was made today in Venice during the event, co-organized with Umana, during which the five finalists of the 58th edition of the Campiello Prize spoke, together with the mayor Luigi Brugnaro, Maria Raffaella Caprioglio, president of Umana and Enrico Carraro, president of the Il Campiello Foundation and of Confindustria Veneto.

"The message that Veneto entrepreneurs want to send with Campiello this year is that of not giving up in the face of difficulties and seeking alternative solutions to the challenges we encounter", explains Enrico Carraro. "The commitment we have made is to make the Prize even closer to people and readers, to make it an opportunity for social rapprochement" after months of distancing.
