The Libyan Al-Wefaq government announced the discovery of a new mass grave with a mortgage, while the head of the Al-Wefaq government, Fayez al-Sarraj, warned of political maneuvers, and Washington attacked Haftar's relations with Wagner's Russian forces.

The Ministry of Justice in the Libyan National Accord Government said that the new mass grave includes 5 unidentified bodies, all of them buried in their clothes, including two blindfolded and restrained, and indicated that work is continuing to search for bodies in all the places designated for the mass graves in Tarhuna.

Kamal Al-Siwi, head of the General Authority for Search and Identification of Missing Persons, said that the total bodies collected and recovered from mass graves in southern Tripoli and the city of Tarhuna have reached 219 bodies and a number of remains and remains.

These bodies were recovered from areas controlled by the forces of retired Major General Khalifa Haftar, who is supported by Arab and European countries, and has been fighting for years for the internationally recognized legitimate government.

Al-Sarraj: Current political moves are maneuvers to find roles for “certain personalities” (Anatolia Agency)

OS warns

Meanwhile, Fayez al-Sarraj, head of the Libyan government of reconciliation, warned that the current political moves on the regional and international arenas are maneuvers to find roles for "certain personalities" in Libya.

This came during Al-Sarraj's phone conversation with French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, according to a statement published by the Libyan government on its Facebook page.

The statement pointed out that Al-Sarraj spoke about the political movements taking place regarding Libya at the regional and international arenas, saying that they are "not initiatives to find a solution to the crisis, but rather maneuvers aimed only at finding roles for specific figures."

With the retired Major General Khalifa Hifter’s forces retreating and losing all the administrative borders of the capital, Tripoli, and most of the cities and places in the western region to the forces of the National Accord Government, Egypt recently put forward a so-called “Cairo Declaration to resolve the Libyan crisis,” but it was met with a categorical rejection from the Accord government and other countries.

For his part, Laudrian called for "accelerating the achievement of the ceasefire in Libya, and returning to the political track under the auspices of the United Nations," according to the same statement.

The Libyan Accord government accuses France, Russia, Egypt and the UAE of supporting Haftar's attack on Tripoli with weapons and mercenaries, but these countries repeatedly deny this.

For its part, the State Department said that the cooperation of what it described as the Libyan National Army with the Russian Wagner Group, and the continued closure of oil fields contradict US and Libyan interests and undermined Libyan sovereignty.

In a statement on its website, the US State Department stressed that militias that try to spoil the political process or engage in actions that threaten Libya's stability should not be tolerated.

The statement called for an immediate cease-fire in Libya, and a return to security and political negotiations under UN auspices.

In the same context, Democratic Senator Chris Murphy, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, announced that he had submitted two amendments to the national defense law for the next year related to Libya and Yemen.

Murphy said that one of the amendments required the US administration to use its authority to punish Haftar and target any assets he or his family in the United States to reduce Russia's influence in Libya, and as a punishment for his cooperation with Moscow and the Wagner Group.
