For the prevention and control of the epidemic, the Panamanian Ministry of Health has not yet ordered the domestic restaurants to be fully opened. There are still hidden dangers of virus transmission in gathering dine-in, so free use of outdoor public space allows restaurant operators to see a glimmer of light.
"We hope that through the above measures, we will reduce the intensive contact of people in the restaurant and encourage domestic and foreign tourists and consumers to choose outdoor spaces as alternative dining venues," Fabrega said.
According to Article 9 of Resolution 23 promulgated by the Panama City Government on January 19, 2016, temporary permission is required to occupy the outdoor space of the historical monumental buildings in the old city of Panama City.
