The procedure caused the patient to end up in a coma. When he woke up from the coma he had lost his voice, a great deal of vision and the ability to eat.

Correct the region at SEK 300,000

The man has tried to get a legal settlement for nine years without success, which means that he is now suing the Stockholm region of SEK 300,000. A process he gets help from the Center for Justice to run.

- I believe that the doctors should be responsible for what they have done to me and that I should be corrected, the patient tells TV4.

Paolo Macchiarini was central to a scandal surrounding inoperative synthetic trachea at the Karolinska Institute in the early 2010s. Three people died as a result of having the trachea implanted.
