Martine Vassal, LR candidate for mayor of Marseille, withdraws from the race. His party will introduce the deputy Guy Teissier.

The president of the metropolis and of the department of Bouches-du-Rhône Martine Vassal (Les Républicains) announced Thursday that she was withdrawing from the race for the succession of Jean-Claude Gaudin in Marseille, for which LR will present the candidacy of the deputy Guy Teissier.

"I made the choice of consensus," said Martine Vassal at a press conference alongside Guy Teissier, also assuring that the dissident candidate LR Bruno Gilles would bring his 3 votes to the latter during the mayor election scheduled for Saturday. In the second round of the municipal elections on Sunday, the union of the left came largely in the lead over the whole city, but the two blocs count with the rallying of Bruno Gilles, now both 42 votes on the municipal council, where the majority is at 51 votes.
