It went somewhat unnoticed, but justice rejected on Saturday a request made by LR candidates to municipal in Paris to look into the use, which they considered illegal, of parliamentary resources for the benefit of Laetitia Avia (LREM) , and ordered them to allocate a sum to the LREM candidates. The judge in chambers declared himself incompetent.
The LR candidate in the 12th arrondissement of the capital, Valérie Montandon, and that of the Paris Center electoral district (first four arrondissements) Aurélien Véron, had reacted to an article in Mediapart, according to which the deputy LREM Laetitia Avia would have made work several his parliamentary assistants for the municipal campaign in Paris.
They are ordered to pay 2,000 euros to Laetitia Avia. In addition to an equivalent sum allotted to his parliamentary assistants, they are also condemned to pay 3,000 euros to the deputy Pacôme Rupin, who shares the parliamentary permanence of Laetitia Avia and is also quoted - but as such only - in the article of Mediapart.
