The accused explained to the investigators that he threw weapons out the window. But the gendarmes never found them. A year and a half after the tragedy, Hervé Rognan was sentenced to ten years in prison for criminal imprisonment. His hunting license was withdrawn and he is prohibited from possessing a weapon without authorization.
