In Sudan, a year after the fall of ex-president Omar el-Béchir, the Sudanese are back on the streets. They are calling for reforms and justice for the victims of last year's popular uprising. According to a committee of doctors, more than 240 demonstrators were killed during the repression of the movement which led to the change of regime.

Thousands of people marched yesterday Tuesday June 30, in the capital Khartoum, but also across the country like Port Sudan, Gadaref (in the east), Atbara and Barbar (in the state of the Nile), Kosti, Damazine ... There were several thousand in the streets of Khartoum to chant: "  Repair, repair! Hamdok does not forget us!  "

Protesters demanding Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok to keep his promises and do justice to the protesters during the uprising against the Omar al-Bashir regime. More than 100 protesters died - on the single day of June 3, 2019 - when the security services dispersed the crowd outside the army headquarters.

That day, Farah Abbas, lost his 28-year-old son. “  My son was shot in front of the army headquarters. He was there with his friends, he tells Alexandra Brangeon of the RFI Africa service, who joined him on the phone. At the time it was very hard, and today we are pushing for justice. It's very slow, there are always delays. Those responsible must be arrested, put in prison and prevented from leaving the country. This is what we expect.  "

The Sudanese want all those responsible for repression under the old regime to be brought to justice, including for the abuses committed in Darfur over the past 20 years.

They also demand that this civilian government accelerate reforms, the formation of a transitional parliament, the appointment of civilian governors in each state. Two points that are behind schedule.
