Mezentsev noted that in any state the election campaign is accompanied by a struggle with the opposition.

Earlier, Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko announced his intention to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin and discuss "interference in elections from abroad."

Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting on Lukashenko’s words, said that Russia is not going to interfere in the electoral processes, especially those that take place in Belarus.
