The budget for 2021-2023 has been presented by the parties in the coalition Framtid Falkenberg - S, L, MP and KD.

A tough economy gets the municipality to think about what is planned for the pre-school building in Okome, Glommen and Vessigebro.

- With regard to Glommen, we see a need for new premises, but it can be solved by pushing the investment for a few years, there is a fairly large overcapacity both in the school premises and in the preschool, says municipal council chairman Per Svensson (S).

Plans are put on ice

The multimillion investment at the pre-school in Okome, on the other hand, seems to take a cross-stance.

- Investing 28 million at a pre-school in Okome is too much for so few places. We have to look at other alternatives, ”says Per Svensson.

The completion of Falkenberg's largest investment ever, Argus, which has cost the municipality more than half a billion to date, is affected when the gym, dining room and a parking garage are put on ice.

No change in tax

Instead of construction, more money should now go towards maintaining staff density and taking over LSS operations to the municipality, says Svensson.

Despite tough times, municipal taxes remain unchanged.
