The Malian opposition no longer insists on the resignation of President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita. To explain this new position, the "Movement of June 5 - Rally of Patriotic Forces" claims to act as a sign of openness to dialogue, and to have taken into account many requests.
According to our information, in addition to the representatives of the UN, the AU and the ECOWAS in Bamako who make back and forth between the opposition and the majority, heads of state, especially from neighboring countries, intervene discreetly to appease the situation, including the Ivorian Alassane Ouattara.
But for Malian opponents, if President IBK can remain at the head of the state, " he must be stripped of all his powers ". The June 5 Movement also demands the full renewal of the members of the Constitutional Court accused by some of having tampered with the results of the last legislative elections.
At least 4 of the 9 members of the court have already resigned. The dissolution of the National Assembly remains another demand of the opposition, which intends to set up a legislative body, to engage, she says, with a Prime Minister from its ranks, " major reforms ".
