On the first day of full-scale enforcement of the Hong Kong National Security Law (Hong Kong Security Law), there was the first case arrested for violating this law.

A police officer in Hong Kong said on a Twitter account on the 1st that "a man was arrested for violating the Hong Kong Security Law by holding a "Hong Kong Independence" flag in the Causeway Bay area."

Police officers in Hong Kong also posted a photograph of the flag on the black background, in white letters,'Hong Kong Independence' (Hong Kong Independence).

This is a flag frequently used by protesters in Hong Kong during meetings.

The Hong Kong Security Law includes the prohibition and punishment of foreign forces and collusions, national divisions, the overthrow of state government, and terrorism, and the establishment of an agency in Hong Kong to enforce them.

The Hong Kong Security Law was inserted into the bylaws of the Basic Constitution, which is the actual constitution of Hong Kong, after it passed the Commerce Committee of the National People's Congress of China on the previous day.
