On July 1, local time, on the agenda of the "Interactive Dialogue with the High Commissioner for Human Rights" at the 44th session of the UN Human Rights Council, Chen Xu, the Permanent Mission of China to the UN in Geneva, made a statement. Chen Xu said that China agrees with the joint statements of countries with similar views, and hopes that the vocational colleges and the Office will continue to carry out dialogue and cooperation with governments of various countries.

Chen Xu said that on June 30, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China unanimously passed the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Maintenance of National Security of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and decided to include it in Annex III of the Hong Kong Basic Law. This law is an important milestone in the cause of "one country, two systems". Cuba made a joint statement on behalf of 53 countries and supported China's enactment of the above-mentioned laws, showing fairness and peace of mind.

Chen Xu stated that China has repeatedly introduced China's situation in Xinjiang to this Council. The Xinjiang-related issues are not so-called human rights, ethnic and religious issues, but anti-terrorism and anti-secession issues. China has taken effective measures, and people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang have fully enjoyed all human rights in a peaceful and peaceful environment, which has been widely recognized by the international community.

Chen Xu pointed out that, for political purposes, some countries once again accused China unreasonably of issues concerning Hong Kong and Xinjiang, distorted the facts, and interfered in China's internal affairs. China firmly opposed this. These countries themselves have serious human rights problems, including structural racism and racial discrimination, xenophobia and hate speech, police violence, and repeated violations of immigrant rights. We urge these countries to attach importance to solving the above human rights issues, stop the "double standard" approach, and stop political manipulation in the Human Rights Council. Interfering in other countries’ internal affairs through human rights issues is doomed not to succeed. (Headquarters reporter Xue Jingmeng)
