The police of Perpignan (Pyrénées-Orientales) arrested a couple of women, aged 33 and 48, suspected of trafficking in heroin from Spain and which was flooding the city, indicates the departmental Surêté.

For several months, investigators from the narcotics brigade have been actively monitoring the two suspects, who have already been known to the police for drug-dealing incidents. The investigation made it possible to determine the scale of the traffic, which was based, according to the police, on about fifty customers and achieved a daily turnover of having 2,000 euros.

Three to four trips to Spain per week

To keep pace, imports of drugs from Spain were carried out three to four times a week, including during the period of confinement, when the borders were closed, police said.

In addition to the duo, three of their alleged accomplices were arrested. During the searches, the police seized 100 grams of heroin, 50 grams of cocaine and 11,000 euros in cash. The investigation continues.
