The man was taken into custody after a Säpo effort in Örebro on May 8 this year. Last week, the Migration Board decided that the man should be expelled from Sweden, supported by the Act on Special Aliens Control.

It is Säpo who applied to have the man expelled, because he is considered a threat to the security of the kingdom.

The man's lawyer Alparslan Tügel tells SVT News Örebro that they will appeal the decision to the government.

- We have discussed it and decided to appeal. There has been no doubt about that. In general, we do not share the Migration Board's assessment in any part, he says.

Formerly suspect for IS recruitment

The man was arrested in 2015, suspected of recruiting people to the terrorist organization IS. The preliminary investigation was later closed, as crimes could not be substantiated.

Since the Swedish Aliens Control Act was introduced in 1991, Säpo has applied to expel some 40 people from Sweden with the support of the Act. None of the designators have won against Säpo, according to an audit conducted by Ekot.
