It appears that there is nothing new on the seventh anniversary of the June 30, 2013 demonstrations, as Egypt ranged its place in the midst of internal and external crises, while the societal division enters its eighth year and everyone is well-established in its position or only a little budged.

And like the past six years, social networking sites in Egypt witnessed controversy and conflict between the supporters and opponents of the June 30 demonstrations, and the sharp disagreement continued to characterize it between the popular revolution and the military coup.

Activists from the two teams launched a number of Soma topped social networking sites, most notably "# 30_ June Revolution", and "# Thinkin_Mesh_Nassien".

It is striking that the supporters of the two teams participated extensively in the two debates through photos, videos and satirical drawings, to express their position on these demonstrations, and their position also on the regime of the current President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, who is believed to be behind the exit of the demonstrations in preparation for the military coup that he carried out on July 3, 2013 when He was the Minister of Defense, as the constitution was suspended and the elected President Mohamed Morsi removed.

The seventh anniversary comes amid major crises that Egypt is currently experiencing, foremost of which is the failure of the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam negotiations, and the risks it poses to Egypt's water security, the flare-up of the Libyan conflict and Egypt's threat of military intervention there, as well as the increasing spread of the Corona virus and its negative economic impacts, And the rise in external debt in an unprecedented way, reaching about $ 120 billion.

A popular revolution

Supporters of June 30 participated in the commemoration of its seventh anniversary by emphasizing its characterization of the popular revolution, and they circulated pictures and videos of the demonstrations and their demands for the departure of the late President Mohamed Morsi.

Some of them recalled what they described as the crises that Egypt suffered during the Morsi presidency, while others repeated the accusations of the Muslim Brotherhood of trying to control the country and change its identity, the same accusations that Sisi mentioned yesterday in his speech to celebrate the seventh anniversary.

Tweeters chose to celebrate the anniversary by talking about what they described as Sisi's achievements, which they said were the most important results of June 30th, especially road, bridges, infrastructure, and arming the army.

Military coup

For their part, the opponents of June 30 participated in its seventh anniversary, certainly as the direct cause of the military coup, and the sharp deterioration that followed in all political, economic and legal fields.

Some of them compared the great freedom that the Egyptian people enjoyed before June 30 and the violations of human rights that Egypt is currently experiencing with the testimony of international organizations.

Some pointed out that the economic demands - which were advocated by the June 30 demonstrations and which al-Sisi emphasized later - were the same ones that witnessed a significant deterioration after 7 years, especially after the liberalization of the exchange rate, high prices and the reduction of subsidies for basic goods and services.

Others asked about the absence of the most prominent civil figures who called for June 30, but have now disappeared from the political scene, whether due to the security crackdown or identification with the regime's policies.
