According to the publication, a corresponding amendment was proposed to the draft law on budgetary appropriations for the US national defense for the financial year 2021 (NDAA).

The authors of the article note that this step can help Washington resolve the situation regarding the participation of Ankara in the program for the production of fifth-generation American fighter aircraft F-35.

At the same time, Republican Jim Rish, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, proposed, on the contrary, to impose sanctions against Turkey in accordance with the Law on Countering America's Adversaries through Sanctions within 30 days after the entry into force of the NDAA.
