Several leaders of La France Insoumise are under a preliminary investigation for "breach of trust" and "concealment" said the Paris prosecutor's office on Tuesday. It was opened on May 14 and entrusted to the financial brigade.

According to Europe 1, it would aim to verify the "conditions under which the leaders of LFI, including Jean-Luc Mélenchon, paid the fines and damages to which they were sentenced" in December 2019 in the search case stormy at the headquarters of LFI in October 2018. Jean-Luc Mélenchon was then sentenced to three months suspended sentence and 8,000 euros fine.

Melenchon targeted

MP Bastien Lachaud, MEP Manuel Bompard, the president of the association L'Ere du Peuple Bernard Pinerolo and the movement's press secretary had been fined between 2,000 and 7,000 euros. Only Alexis Corbière had been released.

Mélenchon targeted by a new preliminary investigation

The leader of the party, Jean-Luc Mélenchon would be among the people targeted if we believe a tweet from the satirical weekly, Le Canard enchaîné , which announced an article on the subject in its Wednesday edition.

An organized (and remunerated?) Leak by tweet says that Madame Champrenault is taking revenge with a new preliminary investigation. What is it about ? I do not know. Macron's justice is that. https://t.co/GSVoRxGlrv

Which has already triggered a response, by interposed tweet, from the main interested party who says he does not know what it is.
