An Interpol official has commented on the arrest warrant issued by Iran on Monday regarding US President Donald Trump, accusing him of being behind the assassination of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani in Baghdad 6 months ago.

An INTERPOL media official said the organization does not interfere in this type of issue of a political nature.

The network quoted "CNN" of the American media official as saying, "Under Article III of the Interpol Constitution, the organization is strictly prohibited from carrying out any interference or activities of a political, military, religious or ethnic nature."

"Therefore, when sending any of these requests to the General Secretariat, in accordance with the provisions of our constitution and rules, INTERPOL will not consider such requests," he added.

As for the US Special Representative for Iran, Brian Hook, he considered Trump's arrest warrant a political ploy to make Iran look foolish. He said, "Interpol does not interfere or issue red notices based on issues of a political nature, and these are of a political nature."

Earlier, Iran issued an arrest warrant for Trump and 35 US officials, and asked Interpol for help in carrying out their arrest.

And the Iranian Public Prosecution decided against the background of accusing Trump and others of being behind a raid using a drone plane that killed a high-ranking Iranian general in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.

The attorney general in the capital, Tehran, Ali al-Qasi Mehr, said that his country accuses Trump and more than 30 others of being involved in the airstrike that took place on January 3; As a result, the Quds Force Commander, Qassem Soleimani, was killed in Baghdad.

He added that the Iranian prosecution faces charges and murder related to the American President. The prosecutor has not revealed the identity of any of the people involved in the Soleimani killing, except for Trump.
