An actor from the Comédie-Française, whose identity has not been disclosed, is accused of physical violence by a Youtuber specializing in the theater, alleged facts condemned by the venerable theater in a tweet Tuesday.

"The Comédie-Française is deeply shocked to discover the unbearable acts of violence attributed to one of its employees. It condemns them with the utmost firmness and will take all the necessary measures," said this tweet.

Neither the French nor the accuser were immediately available immediately.

On her Facebook page and in a series of tweets, Marie Coquille-Chambel, who hosts a YouTube channel on the theater, Plain Chant, said on Monday that she had complained after being hit three times violently by this actor that she didn’t not identify, who according to her also threatened her with death.

"I was hit on March 6, March 26 and May 2. Punched in the face, ribs, back when I was on the ground, beaten books, shoes. He pulled me by the hair in his whole apartment. He threw me on the ground. He tried to strangle me and left marks on my neck. I have audio recordings where he threatens me with death, "said La Youtubeuse who posted photos of her showing bruises on her knees and a lip injury.

She said she had filed a complaint for "usual violence against a vulnerable person who did not result in disability for more than eight days", adding that she was returning to the police station on Tuesday because her complaint was not received "in full".

"I believe that omerta is no longer possible in the theater and I refuse that another can suffer such violence from a man, regardless of his influence and his notoriety," said Ms. Coquille- Chambel.

La Youtubeuse also indicated that the actor sought to "contact (his) family and (his) friends to clear customs and defame me".

"I know he has a reputation as a dangerous guy so if there are other victims, other testimonies so that my word can be heard, please contact me," he said. she pleaded.
