The aeronautical sector is in crisis. After Air France, it is the manufacturer Airbus which announced Tuesday, June 30, its intention to eliminate thousands of jobs by the summer of 2021. Fifteen thousand should thus disappear within the framework of a restructuring plan put in place to deal with the air transport crisis caused by the Covid-19 epidemic.

Airbus plans to cut 5,000 positions in France, 5,100 in Germany, 1,700 in the United Kingdom, 900 in Spain and 1,300 positions at other sites in the rest of the world, said the European aircraft manufacturer in a statement.

"The information and consultation process with the social partners has started with a view to concluding agreements, the implementation of which will start in autumn 2020," added the group.
