Withdrawal from distributor - Raphaël Bloch

Seven people have been indicted for thefts by organized gang and criminal association, in Montpellier (Hérault), said the prosecution. Four of them were taken into custody. They are suspected of having participated in a gang, accused of having committed robberies and attacks on ATMs.

An investigation had been opened on February 18, after attacks on the ram car, occurred on two automatic distributors, in shopping centers: on January 16, in Fabrègues, the criminals left with more than 12,000 euros, and on February 2, in Montarnaud, they left empty-handed, the distributor being empty.

26,000 euros in cash seized

The investigations had made it possible to identify an “organized criminal group originating in the countries of the East, whose members were established on Montpellier and the surroundings”, details the parquet floor of Montpellier. The investigators also suspect this group of having committed other acts in the department, in particular of thefts to the trailer, and thefts of tools in a company, for a damage evaluated at 35,000 euros.

During the searches, 26,000 euros in cash, watches, counterfeit dollar bills, a blue flashing light and a police cap were seized by the investigators.
