Sardinia, 88 people disembarked in the last 24 hours
The landings of migrants in Sardinia do not stop. In the past 24 hours, 88 Algerians have arrived, including a woman. After the 19 traced yesterday as they left the beach of Porto Pino, in the Municipality of S.Anna Arresi, the landings in the evening followed one after the other, always on the south western coast. Around 9.30 pm in Domus De Maria the carabinieri blocked 22 Algerians near two beaches. Almost simultaneously in Porto Pino and Teulada, the Arma military tracked down 33 other migrants, including a woman. A few hours later a patrol boat of the Guardia di Finanza intercepted a 5-meter wooden boat off Capo Teulada with 14 Algerians on board. The migrants were made to disembark at the port of Sant'Antioco. The searches kept the carabinieri busy until dawn. After the medical examinations, they were all transferred to the Monastir first reception center where the staff of the Foreign Office of the Police Headquarters took care of the identification operations.
