By clearly establishing himself during the municipal elections in Le Havre on Sunday, Édouard Philippe has secured his local future, despite a possible reshuffle of the government he heads. According to an Ifop poll for Europe 1 and La Tribune, published on Monday, the Prime Minister appears to be THE figure capable of "reinventing France".

For Edouard Philippe, the good news follow one another: his popularity rating soars compared to that of Emmanuel Macron, the coronavirus crisis is fading and, on Sunday, he was re-elected in his city of Le Havre with more than 58 % of votes, in the second round of municipal elections. The Prime Minister is also the personality in which the French polled by Ifop have the most confidence to "reinvent France" in the years to come, according to an exclusive poll * for Europe 1 and La Tribune , Monday.

While he could pay the price of a vast reshuffle of the government in the aftermath of the municipal elections, Édouard Philippe comes at the head of this survey carried out on 37 political figures, but also scientists and intellectuals. In total, 45% of respondents trust the current Prime Minister to "reinvent France", one point more than for Nicolas Hulot, who appeared in the Philippe government from May 2017 to August 2018

The controversial Pr Raoult seduces the south-east

Adored by some and hated by others during the coronavirus crisis, the controversial scientist Didier Raoult surprisingly came third in this survey (42%). No less than 10% of those questioned even "completely trust" him to "reinvent France".

The virologist, highly publicized during the health crisis, even achieved a score of 53% in the south-eastern quarter of France, where the Marseille-Mediterranean IHU, in which he valiantly defended chloroquine against Covid-19, is based. Figures to compare with another data from this survey: 73% of French people believe that there will be a "before" and an "after" coronavirus crisis in their "way of evaluating the action of public authorities" .

Macron, 9th, disappoints assets 

We then find several political leaders, mainly from the right, such as Xavier Bertrand (38%), Nicolas Sarkozy (36%) or François Baroin (36%), while General Pierre de Villiers came in 10th position with (29%) , just behind Emmanuel Macron, who had sacked him with a crash at the start of his five-year term. The head of state inspires confidence in 32% of those polled, achieving a better score among 18-24 year olds (42%), but less good among all working people (28%).

The first woman in this survey is the President of the Île-de-France Region, Valérie Pécresse, 11th with 28% confidence. Finally, it should be noted that none of the personalities in this survey inspires confidence in more than 50% of those questioned to "reinvent France" in this particular period.
